A World Premiere During The Pandemic

After a long break due to COVID-19 restrictions, Beste was back on stage on August 29th at Koerner Hall, as part of Canadian Composer and Oboist Patricia Morehead’s 80th birthday celebration concert. During the the live-streamed concert, Beste was joined by Maestro Philip Morehead on the piano and the duo performed, among other pieces, the world premiere of the composer’s most recent work: A Shimmering.

The New Classical FM will be welcoming the faculty and students from the Glenn Gould School of Music & Royal Conservatory to The New Zoomer Hall on Tuesday, October 13th for a live broadcast of a noon concert.

Rebanks Family Fellow Beste Kalender will be performing Two Songs for Voice, Viola and Piano, Op. 91 by Johannes Brahms with Barry Shiffman (viola) and Jeanie Chung (piano) and also three melodies by Reynaldo Hahn: A Chloris, Si mes vers avaient des ailes and Quand je fus pris aux pavillon with Jeanie Chung at the piano.

Beste selected as Fellow at The Rebanks Family Fellowship and International Performance Residency Program

Beste in the title role at Music Academy of The West’s production of Rossini’s La Cenerentola

Beste is back for a second year at celebrated mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne’s program Music Academy of The West Summer Music Festival in Santa Barbara, and will be performing the title role in Rossini’s La Cenerentola on July 30th and August 1st at The Granada Theatre.
